The value of using mapping software

If you are already familiar with the world of GPS navigation, then you have probably wondered how you can get even more out of this incredible enabling technology, and the answer lies in using mapping software to build your own maps and add points of interest that you can upload to your GPS unit. If you are lucky enough to won one of the many portable, handheld units, or one which is used in conjunction with a PDA or laptop, then mapping software will give you an added dimension to your GPS use.
