The eTrex series from Garmin is one of the most rugged and low cost
ranges from Garmin. Some of the models from this series include Camo,
Legend, Venture, Summit and Vista. Garmin Vista is similar to the Legend
with all the traditional features and a similar compact size, common to
the eTrex series. Like its other cousins, Garmin Vista is researched and
designed by utilizing the Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS). This
offers you precision data, as well as correctional information, to make
sure you are always getting the most current information available. In
fact, with this GPS receiver you are guaranteed accuracy within three
meters, at all times.

With a base map covering both North and South America, it boasts not
only of a barometric altimeter but also a highly specialized electronic
compass. The digital compass appears in the upper left hand corner of
the device at the same time that the altimeter determines your exact
altitude above the ground. These two features offer you pinpoint
accuracy, no matter which terrain you happen to be in.
Another advanced feature of Garmin Vista is its memory. Instead of the
regular 8 bit memory, the Vista comes with a 24 megabyte storage
capability. This allows for more data storage, and more processing power
for your system. With your purchase you will also receive marine aids to
the pre installed base-map that comes with this system. Each of these
navigational aids are pre-loaded into the system before shipment.
