Garmin 60c
Introducing the advanced features the Garmin 60c
A word of warning before we run through the extensive feature list – the
Garmin 60c is not the cheapest little unit on the market, but it has
some of the most advanced features you will ever see in a portable
rugged GPS system. For example, the Garmin 60c boasts a 256 color
transreflective screen which is viewable under almost any lighting
conditions and from any angle.
Then there are the advanced route calculation functions, which includes
fast automatic rout recalculation, turn by turn directions. The Garmin
60c also has audio alerts for those who want to use the system whilst
also driving a vehicle in a city – something which would not be possible
with a silent unit.
If you need maps, then the Garmin 60c needs somewhere to put them, and
the standard unit comes with 56 MB of internal memory to store the map
data, which gives you unsurpassed possibilities for information storage
and retrieval. Not to mention the fact that the unit connects via USB
allowing for ultra-rapid transfer of information between a PC and
itself.
On top of which, the Garmin 60c is waterproof to within one meter for an
extended period of time, and rugged for outdoor use in all conditions.
Truly a machine for the great outdoors.
Finally, the Garmin 60c has a menu system that is second to none in its
ease of use. The principle controls are mounted on the front of the
unit, and include dedicated buttons for all the primary functions, as
well as a directional stick for easy navigation on the virtual map
surface.
