StreetPilot
Introducing the feature packed Garmin
StreetPilot series
The StreetPilot range is a collection of GPS systems specifically
designed with the automotive user in mind. Each unit has its own
particular features which make it more applicable to a certain kind of
user, from recreational to professional. There are some key elements
that all systems in the StreetPilot share, such as the innovative Garmin
GPS software and hardware solution including a collection of maps with
detailed points of interest information.
The entry level system is a basic automotive GPS, with a grayscale LCD
screen, and the ability to magically calculate a route between two
points at the touch of a button. Even the baby of the StreetPilot range
can track 12 satellites, and comes with a base map that gives detail
down to main arterial streets in principle cities, which can be expanded
from option CD ROMs containing map information.
The mid range options offered by the StreetPilot products include
additions to the basic model such as a color screen, and voice prompting
navigation. The system can be connected to any vehicle, and comes with a
dash mount as does all the systems in this series. Along with the PC USB
connection cable, the user can really open up the possibilities for
feature rich hassle free navigation.
At the high end of the StreetPilot range, there are units designed for
professional use which boast advanced features such as automatic route
calculation with multiple points, Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS)
compatibility for added accuracy down to 3 meters, and the ability to
find the nearest gas station along your preprogrammed route.
