The excellent NavMan GPS product range

The NavMan GPS company manufactures a range of excellent products which use the GPS navigation technology for a variety of different purposes. GPS is the system of satellites that circle the Earth and allow receivers to pick up the signal and then use it to triangulate the position of the unit in much the same way as traditional, landmark based triangulation works. NavMan GPS systems augment this with many features which are designed to extend the basic navigation premise of the GPS network with advanced functions.

The consumer ranges of NavMan GPS systems are aimed at road and marine users. They have all the standard features that you would expect from units at the front of GPS navigation technology. In the personal navigation range there are units that have specific features for trekking in the great outdoors as well as navigation in the urban jungle.

Marine NavMan GPS units offer advanced features such as selectable coordinate systems, WAAS compatibility, for even closer accuracy (up to 3 meters where the Wide Area Augmentation System service is available), and PC connectivity. This last is particularly useful if you already have marine charts that you would like to upload to your navigation system, rather than licensing ones from the manufacturer.

Besides traditional units, NavMan also make fishfinders which are capable of using sonar to locate fish accurately and at a very high speed. In conjunction with the NavMan GPS system, it makes fishing along, or in groups a much more entertaining proposition – you don’t have to hang around or search for your quarry, giving you more time for the actual fishing sport itself.
