Mapping programs combined with GPS for better direction

The idea behind mapping programs is to be able to render an area of real world land in a way that is compatible with a GPS device or other navigation system so that it can be uploaded into it and interacted with. When used in conjunction with modern GPS navigation systems, mapping programs offer an excellent way to get a little more direction when going out and about in the great outdoors, navigating through the urban jungle, or out on the ocean waves.
